A letter written by Ms. Ria Ruiz, the head supervisor at Taylor Stitch & Company in 1971, recalls the staff was instructed to cut 125,000 inch squares swatches from various pieces of Elvis Presley’s personal wardrobe to be included in the August 1971 release of “Elvis” The Other Sides – Worldwide Gold Award Hits, Volume 2.1 Billboard reported that RCA is “only packaging the first 150,000 albums off the press with the swatches.”2 The takeaway here is that these swatches are rare.
