Green Valley Record Store Advertisements

This is a double-sided one-page flyer that measures 13 3/4″ x 8 1/2″ in size. It had fallen out of a record cover that I had recently acquired. It is an advertisement for the entire Pickwick line of Elvis Presley albums, totalling 12 titles. It is a custom ad provided by Green Valley Record Store of Nashville, Tennessee. This illustrates a time when one could buy any three and get one free at just $6.98 for LP or $7.98 for tape.

This is the same Green Valley Record Store that is responsible for a couple of bootleg titles. Here is an advertisement from Billboard, October 8, 1977, page PT51.

This is an original factory sealed copy of Santana Evil Ways / Waiting on Columbia records (4-45069). It was released in 1970. What is interesting about this Columbia release is there is an RCA advertisement on the back. One which features RCA Victor LSP-6020 From Memphis to Vegas / From Vegas to Memphis (LP) by Elvis Presley.

The black label was discovered by the collector who goes by PIOTRULA (of Poland) and reported to this site in April 2013. It appears that that copy may have been offered for sale or trade on eBay in 2014. The pictures on this site are taken from a second copy found in the United States in November 2016. The tan label Pure Gold sells has sold for over $300-$360 on multiple occasions and there are many known copies. This one is so rare.

Frankie and Johnny with catalog number APL1-2559 does not exist as a US release, it did however make it to the Canadian discography. It is listed as reference only.
Clambake with the AFL1-2565 catalog number has been confirmed to exist. Most AFL1-2565 covers will likely contain the APL1-2565 record label. The contents of several sealed specimens included the APL1-2565 album.

A significant difference between the back of the AQL1 and the AFL1 release is the image for Elvis Now. The AFL1 release shows the RCA LSP-4761 STEREO VICTOR in the upper right corner and catalog number under the picture, whereas the AQL1 airbrushes the catalog number from the image and the catalog from under the picture.
